The word fabric usually reminds me of a nice bedspread or a term used by the fashion industry to describe the raw material they use to create all kinds of clothing for the world.

Watching fashion/red carpet events on television you can hear the commentators ranting and raving about the beautiful fabric and texture of this fabric and the design of the fabric when looking at a particular item of clothing, usually dresses for women. Pointing out how designers have taken raw cotton, silk, or other forms of material and created a beautiful (or sometimes in my opinion) freaking ugly piece of clothing; but dont forget they also refer to these clothing items and the idea of fashion as art and an art form (we must remember that fashion designers consider themselves artists).

And like all pieces of artwork/artists there are always people who gather around to applaud or criticize the art/artist; such as fans, critics, the media, etc. But one thing is for sure, good art or bad art (in this case fashion), regardless of the outcome it will garner some ATTENTION for sure. And at the center of this attention is the FABRIC.

The same goes with all of these home design and home renovation shows on television today. Even as I sit here and write this article my girlfriend is watching a number of these shows on TV. In fact, on a channel specifically designed to air these shows. There are more of them out there than I can begin to count. And like the fashion world at the center of a lot of it all are different FABRICS. Whether they come in the form of new drapes for the home or the material with which the couch is covered in or new chairs are cushioned with or it involves a new bed spread of some sort. The textures and colours of these fabrics are all intertwined to match the paint on the walls and the feeling of the room to create different works of art; with the fabric itself often being considered a work of art as well.

Never once did I think that Fabric would be a word that would be a large part of another huge industry, Tradeshows! And in a similar way to the Fashion and Home Design Worlds Fabric is again at the center of attention.

You see I have recently discovered that FABRIC is the new way for a company to print and to present their ideas, logos, slogans, products, and other images/messages to the world.

In fact, more and more companies today are moving away from more traditional graphic panel printing and are coming over to the softer side of things as they are beginning to use FABRIC as their new CANVASS for their artwork message to the world.

Fabric is a great way to display images, words, or any other informative message to the world as the graphics printed on it take on a certain liveliness that was unseen from any previous mediums used.
