How can i install a curtain and a rod here? (pic)?

I want to seperate that blue painted room from the kitchen (the room with the cabinets) with a nice white curtain, i dont want the rod to be flashy, i wasnt it to be as concealable and modern looking.
The red arrows point to a spacing which are parrelel, i was thinking i could rest the rod on top of it?

I like using different material for hanging curtains, one of my favorite places these days is home depot and lowes plumbing department. I use copper pipes for rods and use caps to give them a finish look. The nice thing about copper is that it will get a natural patina over time. I am not familiar with plumbing names but I know there are these parts that are the shape of the pipe and has a place for two screws.

In my home I use Bamboo; I have a friend that has a statuary store and found tikis that I turned into corbel.

In my office I have rod iron hooks that hold up a rod, I found them at pier one imports. They look like tattoos.

I hope this give you a start, look at thing that you would not normally use and take it apart.
